Selection of Respondents
All the Houses already surveyed during the Ist survey had been taken into account for re-assessment, which means door-to-door survey was conducted in all the Households again in each and every villages, during the assessment period held between June-July’07.
Design of Research
This study was of an Exploratory in nature. The purpose behind the choice of this design was to portray the characteristics of the Existing situation with regard to the impact of CFVP activities on 18 vital issues, and also to establish the cause and effect relationship among the variables involved. It is an exploratory design because of its first study is conducted on CFVP activities in this Block. The Study also provides details to explore further information about the CFVP activities
Investigators
The Volunteers, facilitators and supervisors were pressed into the services of re-assessment.
Sources of Data
Primary data was collected directly from the respondents. Personal observation has provided adequate information towards the data collection.
Tools of Data Collection
An interview schedule was designed for the collection of data and was administered to the Respondents. Since most of the respondents were illiterate, the investigator – Facilitators preferred interview schedule. Apart from this observation and documentation were also used to collect the data.
Details about Pilot Study
A Pilot study was conducted by the investigator for the following objectives
- To formulate Research problem more precisely
- To formulate Hypothesis
- To clarify Concepts
- To establish and finalize the priorities in Research
Methods used for Pilot study
- Experience Survey and
- Small scale survey
Purposive sampling method was used to meet the Respondent. Ten Respondents were interviewed regarding CFVP activities.
Pre – Testing
Six Respondents from the sample frame were selected by using purposeful sampling method for pre-testing. The interview schedule was pre – tested and certain questions were corrected and some questions were deleted and some more were added to the final interview schedule.
Actual collection of data
The Research tool i.e. Interview schedule was administered to collect information from the Respondents. As planned the data collection was over between June to July’07.
Secondary Data
Wherever necessary secondary data’s were obtained from VHNs, Anganwadi staff, Teachers and other line Departments to verify the data’s collected.
