Krishnagiri district has ventured a visionary and innovative scheme by establishing the country's first Panchayat BPO cum Call Centre at Sanasandiram, Chennathur Panchayat, Hosur Block, Krishnagiri District, Tamilnadu.

In “Sanasandhiram” village of Chennathur village Panchayat in Hosur, a dilapidated community hall was totally renovated and transformed to a Rural Call Centre on par with the global level.

In this Centre, students who with minimum of Tenth Standard and above are identified from Naxal affected villages trained as BPO workers. Now a situation has arisen that not only graduates but the students who have completed the Tenth Standard also can get this employment opportunity.

FOSTeRA is the first ever step taken by the department of Rural Development and it sets a great example for other districts of Tamilnadu and other states of India.
