The Child Friendly Village Planning exercise of UNICEF has
been very successful in Krishnagiri district largely due to
the involvement and commitment of about 20-30 panchayat level
youth volunteers (male and female equally). Now we have
planned to redesignate this team as the Village Volunteer
Force. The change will not only be in nomenclature, but also
in the scope of their activities. These youth will be trained
in first aid, disaster management, water and sanitation,
literacy and of course they will be the pillars of strength
for the "Out of School Children" tracking and monitoring
system.
